Spring FORWARD!

So I work every Saturday night, therefore, I work every time change. This past Saturday, as I was getting ready for work, I asked Bryan to change the clock in our bedroom so I would know what time it was when I got up the next day. I went to work, came home and went right to bed at 7am. We have church from 2-5 pm and it was my week to teach the lesson. I had the "Repentance" lesson all ready to go with treats and hand-outs prepared. I slept in until 1:15 so I decided to miss Sacrament meeting and just go to Primary. The kids and I got all showered, dressed and headed off to church at 3pm.....so we thought.
As we got closer to the church, I started passing several members of our ward. "Hmmm, that's odd, a lot of people are going home after Sacrament meeting.." I thought. I looked at the clock in the van. 4:08. "Ut Oh!" I looked at my cell phone. 5:08. "OH NO!!!"
Holy crap! Bryan set the clock BACK, rather than FORWARD!!!! I missed ALL of church!!! I caught my Primary Secretary in the parking lot and apologized profusely. She laughed. I felt like such a moron! No wonder I was well rested, I had slept until 3:15, not 1:15!!! My class was taken care of but I still felt like such a moron! Alexis was very disappointed, but I couldn't stop laughing at the whole situation and that lightened her mood. I told her I would teach her and Logan the lesson anyway since I had it prepared, and I hated to waste my cute handouts! It's not so easy to explain the mishap of setting the clock wrong and missing nursery all together to a 2 year old, on the other hand. When we got home she refused to get out of the car. When she finally did, she went in the house and got her church bag and stood next to the door. Poor Brookie. I took her with me to work to pick up some Girl Scout cookies I had ordered, and a cookie and another trip in the car made everything all better.
Next year, I'll do the clock-changing. Lesson learned. :D

LOL! That is so funny, sounds like something that would happen at our house. Only there is no way our son would let us miss church...we actually call him the church police, because he is very quick to pooint out whenever we are doing something we shouldn't be.
